BUSINESS INFORMATION ON NIGERIA

BUSINESS INFORMATION ON NIGERIA AND AFRICA SUB-SAHARAN NATIONS

Africa Sub-Saharan:

With the population of about 380 million habitants which is equivalent to the USA.

Africa is the future Investment continent of the world. Africa is where to be now because most countries are discovering crude oil and they need countries like Argentina that has surpassed the developmental problems to help Africa to grow.

Nigeria:

The 7th largest oil producing country in the world this gives Nigeria the economical power to purchase all kinds of products.

We are an import based country because we do not produce most of our consumables.

Nigeria has the population of approximately 170 million people, which makes us as economical hub of Africa and a very attractive position for Argentina export companies.

Our market is not only Nigeria but extends to other Sub-Saharan countries like Rep. Benin, Togo, Ghana, Cote d’ivories, Senegal, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Niger etc.

Security issue:

Boko Haram leader has just been killed so we expect to enjoy relative peace in the northern part of Nigeria from now on.

Argentina and its Products:

The products from Argentina are better products than China and other Asian products making the Argentinean products more attractive and competitive.

There are certain things to do to be able to attract awareness to your products:

1.       Attend exposition/ferias.

2.       Create awareness by introducing of your products to the Nigerian market

3.      Appoint representatives to introduce your products into the distribution network. This will allow your products to get to all parts of Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa without any additional cost.

Water Treatment:

‘Water is life’ but unfortunately in Africa and Nigeria in particular, water treatment and chemicals are still centuries behind Argentina.

There is a very big business opportunity in this sector, considering the fact that not much has been done in this respect.

It will be a blessing if Argentina companies can help Nigeria solve the water treatment problems and therefore making money in the process.

University Interchange:

There are a couple of countries like Colombia that are participating in this programmes, this can be done through Nigerian University Commission (NUC) and other agencies.

These 170 million people have to be properly educated, developed and exposed to the outer world to be able to manage the Nigerian economy now and in the future.

Artificial Insemination:

This is a method that is finding its way into Nigeria/Africa at the present moment, there are some farmers that I know who are interested in this method of rearing animals.

I will personally introduce your companies to a couple of farmers.

Meat/Poultry & Crops /Plants:

Can you imaging what it takes to feed 170 million people? Nigeria is a big market waiting to be conquered, a couple of years ago I started talking to a meat processing company in Argentina ‘Santa Elena’ to come and do business in Nigeria.

The technology and the core business of meat and poultry is million dollar business because this is one of the best ways to feed a nation.

Medicine/Cosmetics and Wine/Champagne:

Other countries like Chile and Brazil are taking advantage of these industries in Nigeria, just imagine 20% of the population of Nigeria consuming your product (34 million) this is almost the population of Argentina.  Think about it.

Air lines:

This is a good intervention which the Brazilians are also thinking of taking advantage of.

There used to be a direct Air flight of both cargo and passengers in the 1990’s and was economical viable.

The people of Africa and South America have a very strong history and this has resulted in business and trade relations for many centuries.

We in Nigeria and other African sub-Saharan Nations like Ghana, Cote d’ ivories and Senegal are still importing goods from South America countries; therefore we need direct air flight between Nigeria and Argentina.
